Hello!
I am a newcomer to posting in this forum, and I hope my question is clear enough.
I have been trying to locate a sound patch (voice file?) that I had on my older Yamaha YPG-235 keyboard.
The patch is "Fargo"
I believe this patch was on other Yamaha synthesizers also.
I have scoured the web and only found one "fargo.syx" file.
This file did not convert through the Yamaha FM Convertor utility. Either there is nothing usable for the utility to convert, or the file is corrupt.
If anyone has the patch that will work on the MODX7 or has any idea how to recreate the sound, that would be great. Out of all the YPG sounds that one stands out to me.
Thanks!
The Fargo.SYX I found was for the CS1X. If this is what you have: the CS1X is not one of the compatible synths for the FM converter. It's not even an FM synth. "SYX" does not denote FM. Just like if you find a ZIP file it doesn't mean it's going to be a ZIP of anything in particular. SYX is a collection of system exclusive messages and could really be for any MIDI keyboard and does not need to be sounds at all.
Current Yamaha Synthesizers: Montage Classic 7, Motif XF6, S90XS, MO6, EX5R
Thanks Jason! Appreciate the response.
