Going to spend some time using this forums data in concert with other tutorials. To avoid getting a boatload of unnecessary hits from a search, are there any specific operators this search engine recognizes in order to do a more focused search (eg. Boolean, advanced functions, etc).
Thanks for your help.
Rich,
The best way to search the forum is to use google. It's well indexed.
site:yamahasynth.com modx category search
That's an example. Be sure to begin with site:yamahasynth.com to search the entire site including forum and tutorials. Add "modx" or "montage" if interested in those (or other keyboards). Place anything in quotes like "modx" and "category search" if those must be included. The AND (boolean logic) would be implied already if you quote everything. Like site:yamahasynth.com "searchterm1" "searchterm2"
And a placing two words in quotes enforces that phrase is searched as-is (like "category search" ).
Current Yamaha Synthesizers: Montage Classic 7, Motif XF6, S90XS, MO6, EX5R

Can be at end of search string... parses more naturally to the mind and was the way it was originally introduced, as a keyword indicative of a range modifying parameter:
eg:
modx category search site:yamahasynth.com

Yamaha can't consistently keep spam out. Nor keep us logged in. Asking them to build a search engine on top of a third party (barely supported) external property is akin to imagining they are busily reviewing and working on a list from IdeaScale for future firmware and OS updates.
