Saving Patterns to scenes and Performances.
I could do with some help please.
I'm having a hard time understanding the correct way to record and save Performances that contain Arps.
I first selected the Performance I want to record and recorded and named 3 patterns, all 4 bars long. The problem arose when I tried to save a particular pattern to the scenes.
e.g. Intro to scene 1, Variation to scene 2, Bridge to scene 3
I was pressing "Shift" and Scene 1 to save the Intro pattern then stored the Performance.
Next I pressed "Shift" and Scene 2 with the Bridge Pattern then again store the Performance but when I go back hoping changing from Scene 1 -2 would change the patterns it doesn't.
The last store Performance executed put the Bridge pattern in Scene 1.
Any step by step explanations of how to assign patterns to scenes and store them with the Performance would be appreciated.
thanks,

It is clear from theses statements that you are not clear on what a Pattern is and what a Scene is... we will attempt to clarify.
A Performance is a collection of instruments — these can be thought of as the band... the same band members play throughout.
Each band member has their own Track which records whatever is played on that instrument... there are 16 Parts, 16 Tracks.
A Pattern is numbered 001 through 128. Each Pattern is separate and autonomous.
Each Pattern has 8 Scenes — each Scene is defined by a number of Measures, from 001 through 256.
Each Pattern Scene has 16 MIDI Tracks.
You would start by recording into one Pattern, using each of its 8 Scenes to be musical segment.
Scene 1 could be 4 Measure INTRO
Scene 2 could be 4 Measure VARIATION
Scene 3 could be 4 Measure BRIDGE
These all would be recorded in Pattern 001... under one name... with one Performance.
A Pattern Scene set to a Record Length of 4 Measures... will record for 4 bars before cycling around. During playback you can let the Scene play as long as you desire. Scenes can be appended (added) to the end of another when you want to create a longer entity.
We can’t give you a step-by-step without knowing a bit about the instruments you are recording.
But begin to think about this as one Pattern. Each Scene is a musical Section. Say the drums are on Track 1..
In Scene 1 they do a simply Hihat rhythm for the 4 measure Intro. In Scene 2 the Drums may open up to a groove including the Bass Drum and Snare Drum for 4 Measures. In Scene 3 the Drums May do some things with the cymbals and toms...
Each of the members of your “band” would play a different musical Phrase in each of these three Scenes.
Thanks for your excellent explanation it's just what I needed to get my head around this. I've watched all the YT videos I could find on recording with the Pattern sequencer but this helps fill in the gaps.
