Hello. Help me please. My X8A file does not load on my modx 7, the message illegal file appears. I have 2 X8A files, both of them cannot be opened. Can you help? there are some solutions. I have a lot of samplers and add-ons there. I have a lot of work to do there. Very important sounds for the introduction. Please.

Was the Backup created from the same MODX?
Do you have any other, maybe older, Backup Files, that will install?
If I were you...
1) Get a *NEW* USB Stick, format it on your PC/MAC.
2) Create a MODX Backup onto the *New* USB. Save that Backup to PC/MAC for safe keeping.
3) Attempt to load the new Backup into your MODX. Does it Work? or does it Fail?
4) If it works, remove the USB, and do a full initialise (Utility - Settings - System - Initialise ALL Data) on the MODX. This will wipe all User Memory.
Now Try loading the .X8A file that previously caused the error. If it works, you are good to go.
5) If your *new* Backup fails to load, then I suggest taking the MODX to an authorised Service Centre.
6) If your old .X8A file still won't load after a full MODX Initialise, then I suspect the .X8A file is corrupted, maybe the USB Memory itself has corrupted. This is the proverbial "Tough Luck" scenario... unless you have a "clean" version of the Backup, stored on your PC.
