I am a little confused as to what performance parameters (if any) besides volume are saved in each Live Set slot when you edit a performance?

Besides the Volume offset, None. The purpose of the Live Set is to corral the Performances you need quick access to into a set list type grouping.

There are 2,227 Preset Performances in the MODX, an additional 640 can be housed in the User Bank, and another 640 in each of the 8 Library Banks. You are approaching 8,000 Performance locations… Understand the LIVE SET as a way you decide which Performances you wish to use at tonight’s gig.

You can quickly setup a list — just recall the Performance, decide, “Ok, this is one I want to use”, Press [SHIFT] + [LIVE SET] to place it in a slot. There is no one way to use the Live Set feature…

This can be used to organize the Performances that you use most often.
This can be used to create a specific “play order” list, you can advance through via a FS assignment.
This can be used to group your favorite Performances according to type… (the factory Live Sets are an example of this use case… assembled so that the retail sales people can quickly find a ‘best of’ a particular type of programming, Orchestral, Synth, FM-X, SmartMorph, Motion Control, etc… When someone comes in and has never heard FM Synthesis, there is a Live Set Page with 16 examples!

You can dream up how you use this function. For those who use it as a “play order” listing you have 8 User Banks. That is, 8 play lists.
Each play list has 256 program slots. (16 Pages, each Page has 16 Performance slots). That’s a total of 2,048 Live Set slots (8 x 256)

A Live Set references the original Performance… to be useful for the musician on stage, Volume is the parameter that is stored as an OFFSET. Imagine you are in the pit of a Broadway show, you can create a specific “play order” and advance through it with a Foot Switch. Shows like this repeat, each show, the same. The listing is likely to have repeats…
In this type of use case, the same Acoustic Piano Performance might be recalled more than a dozen times in the first 100 program changes. But each time it is recalled, the player can store the proper volume for that particular time in the show.

The same piano Performance might need to be set to Vol = 125 when the show opening number is played, but after a half dozen other Performance instruments, the piano is again on the set list, but this time the Vol needs to be 80… the Live Set is referencing the same Performance, but for the convenience of performer, you can tag a Volume Offset along with its position on your “play order” list.

Your three scenarios are likely, going to occupy three separate Performances, and three separate Live Set slots. You’re changing more than just the Volume… That said, you’d need to be even more specific about the items that change. Because you can have 8 Parts in a Performance, your SCENE buttons might allow you to store all the changes you have mentioned in one Performance. But you would have to remember which SCENE contained which of your three scenarios.

And, no, it will not remember a Scene Offset; the SCENE that is initially recalled at the HOME address will be the one recalled by the Live Set link.

The Live Set slots, 256 of which can be active at any one time, have a Bank Select and Program Change, that is independent of the original Performance’s Home address.

In other words, when you activate a LIVE SET Bank, the Performance placed in PAGE 1/SLOT 1-16 is always recalled by: MSB 62, LSB 0, PC 0-15
A Performance in its original Home would be addressed with a Bank Select that starts with MSB 64… … and a PGM Number 001-128 (0-127)

The Live Set address can offset the Volume.
