I inadvertently initialized my modx and lost all of my user live set patches. Is there any magic way to get them back?
You can reload them from a .X8U (MODX User File) from a USB stick — this will restore all your User Performances, Waveforms, Arps, Motion Sequences, Curves, MicroTunings, Utility Settings, Quick Setups, Audition Phrases and Live Sets.
It is not magic but pretty close; it does have one requirement, however, you must make the File before you Initialize User Data
Press [UTILITY] > touch “Contents” > “Store/Save” > set the “Content Type” = USER File > execute
Highly recommended: create a User File after making any changes to your MODX.
EXTRA CREDIT:
There are only two kinds of technology users, those who backup their data, and those who eventually have catastrophes.
If you did not create a File (USER, LIBRARY or a full BACKUP), the Initializing Options will completely reset your instrument’s current memory as indicated by the Initialize function you execute...
You have the following Initialize Options on the [UTILITY] > “Settings” > “System” screen:
“Initialize All Settings“ - this resets all Utility Settings to the factory defaults.
“Initialize User Data“ - this clears Performances, Live Set, Motion Seqs
“Initialize All Data“ - this returns the entire instrument to factory defaults (including clearing all installed Library data)
There is also an option to “Initialize Advanced Settings” found on the [UTILITY] > “Settings” > “Advanced” screen.
