Explanation of a Yahama-Expert:
https://yamahasynth.com/learn/montage/mastering-montage-arpeggio-making-101-part-i

Quote:
"From the PERFORMANCE (Home) screen:
Press [CATEGORY SEARCH]
Select "Init" > "Multi/GM" and return to the Home screen"

There is no "Init" on the screen!!! ... at least not on my MODX

My Advice to all Pro's: take your mother and explain it to them! Will bring you to a completely new level! (assumed your mother is not a Yahama engineer)

Your mother would certainly advise you to not rush into making a fool of yourself.

found it ... right ... besides the categories...

Instead describing where to find and why to choose ... it is more important to explain the sense of "Mary has a little lamb" and write down the lyrics. America first ... and only!!!
I choosed to play "Hänschen klein". Would be interesting what Japanese (Yamaha origin) choose.

But has no more importance. After I played two instruments of Yamaha (ePiano, Keyboard) I didn't listen to a friend of mine, because I was satisfied with Yamaha. But this machines cannot be levered by oneself.

Now I phoned with him. On monday I will exchange the MODX at the dealer and take a Korg. Better to have one to explain me.

bye bye and much fun

I think it's reasonable feedback that tutorials strive to circle all physical buttons or touchscreen "buttons" one needs to press in order to follow the tutorial. Certainly there is some amount of "hunt and peck" expected. Mostly the information is there - but it's also true that English instructions may be followed by those without English GUIs or otherwise there may be some barriers.

There are some resources better than others and usually one finds constructive help here in the forum.

Whatever your ultimate choice of keyboards is, I hope you find inspiration and something that works for what you need.

Current Yamaha Synthesizers: Montage Classic 7, Motif XF6, S90XS, MO6, EX5R

There's also a way to get into the Category menu such that Init is not visible.

Babba's complaints are legit.
