a few questions: how do i use modx connect with my daws? Studio one 6 and Reason 10
If i save and load different sounds to a usb flash drive, can i play them on the modx8 via usb as aposed to saving them in the keyboard to save memory?

Connect doesn't save memory.
Other than that, I'm not a heavy connect user. Others can better expose the virtues of connect and let you know how it assists them in DAW projects.

You can NOT play performances directly from a USB flash drive.
