Hi - I play/use my MODX live on gigs.  I have one section of "Live Set" dedicated to "break music patches", which are 15 minute songs that play while we are on break.   (break 1, break 2, etc)

These .wav files are stored or connected to  performances, and the actual .wav files live on a USB drive.

This all works - BUT - I'm not sure (?) if I could actually store these break songs to internal memory on the MODX.   If I can - - i can't figure out how to do it.

(happy to receive a link to a section of the manual or a video)

All responses will be appreciated 🙂 thanks - Pete Radd

No - .wav files live on the USB drive.

You can create Live Set entries and specify a performance/wav combination for each 'break'.

You can create a Performance with Part 1 as the only Part and make it a drum part.  Limit the key range to just middle C and replace Middle C's waveform with your WAV file which you import into a key bank.   Then set middle C to ignore key off so when you hit the key and release the sample will play all the way through

Then you switch to this Performance, press middle C, and walk away.  Since the key range is limited you could ham-fist near the middle of the keyboard since surrounding keys will be ignored.

It eats up internal waveform memory doing it this way.  I haven't calculated how many minutes the available memory gives you of uncompressed user samples.  Conserving waveform memory is the main benefit of playing WAV files off a USB stick.
