Is MODX a downscaled version of Montage or it has different features?
Is the MIDI implementation of MODX similar to Montage or it has a more flexible and user programable aproach than Montage?
How is implemented MIDI Bank Select & Program Changes?
Is it possible to change/edit the preassigned MIDI Bank Select & Program Changes?

The feature set is mostly a MODX subset to the Montage superset. MODX has a bunch of missing buttons and one new button that Montage doesn't have. I see this more of a shortcut than a completely new feature.
Some screens and features of MODX are different. None of this ends up being night and day type differences.
The general architecture regarding your MIDI questions is "the same".
