Hi,
I'm a new user of the MODX6.
I want to use it with Logic Pro X and control it via my NI Komplete Kontrol S61 MkII.
I choose External Instrument, set the right destination and set the MIDI-Channel to "All".
In the Track settings I also choose MIDI-Channel "All".
When I play the S61 I hear only the MODX sound of MIDI-Channel 1, meaning when I choose Performance "CFX +FM EP" I can't play the high notes on Channel 3.
It's the case in all Quick Setup Modes.
Strangely, when I set Local off I can play the high notes via the MODX6 keyboard.
Am I doing something wrong? Am I missing something?
Thanks for help,
Florian
Am I doing something wrong? Am I missing something?
Both.
The “CFX + FM EP” Performance is 5 Parts. If you only transmit In on one channel while the MODX is in “MIDI I/O Mode = Multi” then you will not trigger Parts 2, 3, 4 or 5 which occupy channels 2, 3, 4, and 5, respectively. The MODX Keyboard transmits on five MIDI channels when addressing the “CFX + FM EP” Performance.
You don’t mention why, or even if your external controller has the ability to transmit on multiple channels simultaneously.
There are ways to workaround this, based on what your ultimate goal is... if you are just recording this one instrument you might opt to place the MODX in “MIDI I/O Mode = Single”. When this is your Setting your External Controller can address any MULTI PART Performance with multiple KBD CTRL Parts all simultaneously.
You don’t outline your ultimate goal...
I’m not a Logic Pro user but you may find the basics found in this article helpful:

Although written for the MONTAGE you can just substitute MODX ...
