Hello
Newbie (very New) here, with what I hope is a simple question.
I am having difficulty Storing a performance - maybe I am missing a step, or not being smart (always a possibility π ), or perhaps there is something not quite right with my MODX6.
So, I start with a performance, add a few parts to it, tweak a thing here and there and come up with a sound I like.
I hit the STORE button
I touch the screen where it says "STORE AS NEW PERFORMANCE"
I give it a new name, and touch "Done", and I am back at the performance screen.
I then hit "SHIFT" and "LIVE SET" - and there is my newly saved performance in the 'User 1' Live set screen with the name that I just gave it.
I can do the above multiple time, and end up with several performances in the Live Set.
I can see my new performance under the user bank, and I can recall it if I move on to other performances or move around the Live Sets
Here is where it goes wrong - when I switch off the unit, and then power back up - none of these performances are anywhere to be found, not in the user banks of the Category Search, or in the Live Sets.
Am I missing something, or doing anything wrong?
Thanks in advance.
Jim
Hi Jim,
Welcome to YamahaSynth. Simple enough to fix... hereβs what we think happened...
Sounds like you have set your instrument to initialize itself each time you boot up. This is not recommended unless that is what you want to happen. The instrument defaults to storing your settings, so you must have changed this setting and stored it as a part of your instruments settings.
Recommended: set this back to OFF
Hereβs how:
Press [UTILITY]
Touch βSettingsβ > βAdvancedβ > find the setting βInit on Bootβ
Set this to Off
Warning: Settings you make to your Utility Mode are stored in the User Files you make... if you have files you created you want to make sure you have your Utility Mode settings set as you require.
Thank you - that was the fix.
The instrument I bought was the floor/open box model, so it perhaps makes sense that the store would have made that setting.
All good now, thanks for your help!
