I want to record some arps so that I can play more parts and fills in our live performance. But, I'm not using drum kits or tempos or clicks. I perform with a live drummer. So, if the drummer sets a slightly different tempo, can j adjust the arp on the fly?

Yes, you can adjust the tempo on-the-fly.
A better question is will this work? The answer is, your mileage will vary.
Here’s how you can adjust it... on the MODX front panel is a readout of the current Tempo...
If you touch that, you will be taken to the TEMPO SETTING screen
Move the cursor highlight over the “Tap Tempo” box
Tap the [ENTER] button to register the BPM.
