On daughter's MODX - in the unassigned samples, is a "Sawtooth".
How do I find out where this came from (other, later installed libraries) or if it's part of the defaults from Yamaha?

I think you'll find it's from "Montage Expanded" Library.
Prove by Cat Search Waveform Main = Montage Expanded. Set Sub to Unassigned.

"Montage Expanded" is a Free Library you can download.
My error, in Cat Search Waveform "Bank/Favourite" should be set to the Library "Montage Expanded" if you have it.
I don't always have my MODX to hand when writing replies. The "Unassigned" category is over to the far top right of the Cat Search screen.

Bill: if you don't have Montage Xpanded installed, but have space : Put it in!
it's the single best instruction on what Yamaha thinks of FM-X you'll get... but you gotta "decompile" each, after you find the one's of interest. Which is really just practicing navigating the UI maze... wowsers. It's a mess.
Another to get, on the opposite side (AWM2) is Twisted Tools' pack. Absolutely incredibly astute and stunning use of AWM2. This guy weaved magic, a long way back, and it works on MODX!

There's not going to be a main category of "Montage Expanded". That would be the bank. Each installed library shows up as a bank with the bank name coming from the library's filename minus the X[7,8]L extension.
