Not with the Knobs, use the following buttons, simultaneously:

[UTILITY] + [PART SELECT—MUTE/SOLO] will take you directly to the UTILITY > “Settings” > “System” screen with “Calibrate Touch Panel” highlighted..

Thank you very much Bad Mister. you're a life saver. is there a board or part in the synth that i should replace to solve this permanently? i have no warranty on this synth and no service center in my country. And sending it to yamaha would be too costly.

I’m sure there is, but you’ll probably need to take it or send it to an authorized service center.

We certainly cannot even diagnose the problem from here. All you’ve told us is “screen freeze“ in the title of your post. It could be as simple as a loose connection or perhaps you have inadvertently activated Panel Lock (this has been described as “screen freeze” by more than one User).

What does “screen freeze” mean exactly on your instrument? We’re you able to calibrate it? What is on the screen?... are you connected to another device via USB or MIDI when the “screen freeze” occurs. Did you buy it used? Was it purchased new? If not new, you should contact the person you purchased it from... if you purchased it new, contact the retail store that you purchased it from... You should at least call your regional Yamaha office and talk to Support or Customer Service (Numbers/email in the back of the Owner’s Manual)... they maybe able to talk you through troubleshooting the problem, and direct you to your options.

But we can only offer you what we’ve provided with the little information you have provided. Sorry you are having this issue. Let us know...
