I have a new MODX which has a sticker on its front suggesting I connect to soundmondo.com. I did so using Google Chrome and found an unhelpful, bare site which seems to have been abandoned by Yamaha. The Sync button at the top tells me my synth is disconnected but fails to offer a suggestion as to what I must do. On this forum and yamahamusicians.com there are posts from a few years ago detailing other MODX users' problems with Soundmondo but solutions seem difficult to find.
I looked at the Soundmondo FAQ page by Blake Angelos which tells me to check Chrome's MIDI Devices settings: I found this already set to Sites can ask to connect to MIDI devices and the site https://soundmondo.yamahasynth.com:443 is Allowed to connect to MIDI devices.
Can anyone suggest how I might connect to this site?
You've got to login as well. So you need an account and login. The login is necessary for all of the features to work.
Note that all previous message board discussions regarding the 10ish tripping points for Soundmondo still apply. So complicated or not, you're going to eventually run into all of those issues unless you luck out on some of the browser configuration tripping points.
Soundmondo using the iOS app (not that you have to run out and buy such a device if you don't have one already) has less to go wrong and therefore is a better experience assuming you have a device that can run the iOS Soundmondo.
