Is there a way to turn off sustain pedal for just one part off a three part performance while still have it on for the other two.

Thanks Jason. I thought that this was answered before but with the updated forum I couldn't find it

It's not so easy now. I searched for:

site:yamahasynth.com sustain part off

On google then right-clicked the link and copied it. Pasted it and replaced "ask-a-question" with "forum".

A heavy burden for something that one would reasonably expect is simple.

[/quotePost] We highly recommend you use the magnifying glass found near the top of the forum post page (the page you are now viewing) when searching for information on this site.

Click on the magnifying glass, set the attributes for your search, in this case “Current Yamaha Synths” and “All posts” — easy peasy, no copying, pasting or changing any phrases in the url listing — in fact, you don’t need the URL at all… the item searched for will provide a direct link to the post.

You can refine your search within “Current Yamaha Synths” to just MODX or just MONTAGE…

Extra Credit:
On the YamahaSynth.com HOME page is another search that can include site Articles as well as Forum posts.

Prior to going back to google I did use the magnifying glass and noticed if I searched for a term then not only original post would show as a search hit - but every response in the same thread would show up too if it had the term.

My response to this was to create an ideascale idea for the yamahasynth.com category to consolidate search results because the search creates more noise than google. I'd rather, myself, deal with the cut/paste complexity because that takes a few seconds rather than spending much more time scrolling through pages and pages of results.

We still highly recommend it… use quotations to search for specific phrases. Showing each thread that contains the phrase is typically what someone searching for information would need. If you click on the first listing in a thread, and follow up by reading the entire thread, skipping the other listings is easy enough - since the threads title is clearly shown.

You, of course, can do things your way. I posted this for others who may struggle with navigating this site (without Google)… and would rather not WAIT for a solution. The magnifying glass is ready, today. Use it for searching the forums.

Different workflows for different people. It's all good. I just wanted to let you know that I wasn't eschewing the magnifying glass out of principle but rather after frequently checking to see if it was better than the alternative. It's worthwhile feedback that a user would rather use something that's less "polished" due to usability concerns and I have used the front-door of ideascale to express what improvements could be made which hopefully serves to elevate the feature.
