Hi.
I’m trying to make a performance where i can play piano but also play brass accents using assign 1 switch with a pedal to mute my piano and unmute my brass until i release the pedal. I have it working within the part elements for controlling falls and doits etc but here i want to switch parts on and off. Must be verly simple but i just can’t find it.
Switching keyboard control on and of would be the preferred way to go.

It can be done selecting part volume hit asign, hit asign 1 and then the parameters but i’d rather put the track keyboard on and of so i can sustain the piano if i want and the brass will not play the piano notes that are in sustain.
Also parts with a few seconds sustain will suddenly start to sound de previous played notes sustain.

Can you put this another way or place a comma for clarity? Do you want to flip AsSw1 with a momentary pedal? Piano normally and Brass when the pedal is down?
Piano plays when all “AsSw Off”
Brass plays when “AsSw1 On”
Set FS ASSIGN = 86 ...this will activate/deactivate the Assign Switch 1 (momentary)
Instead of using Mutes (which is a mixer setting), the attached MODX CONNECT example uses XA CONTROL to switch between Piano and Brass. The piano Elements play when both Switches are Off, the brass Elements play when AsSw 1 is lit. This does not cut off the sound, the transition will be sonically invisible.
Unzip the attached, and open it with MODX CONNECT... This will bulk it to your instrument’s edit buffer (it will not overwrite anything).
You must set the FS to 86
[UTILITY] > “Setting” > “MIDI I/O” > set FS ASSIGN = 86
Let us know if you have questions
Thats the way i do it with articulations within a part, but it doesn’t seem to work switching multiple parts on and of within a performance, or i have to go through all the elements of every part. Also it doesnt seem to work with the synthbell part i tried.
Does the item I sent you work?
Can you post your Performance?
I’m away from my equipment now, i’ll post it tomorrow.
If "synthbell" is FM-X, then this doesn't have XA control so you'd have to use keyboard control for that instead. Maybe best to invest in a MIDI pedal that can send CCs for the scenes and assign keyboard control to scenes -- after the MODX firmware update which is coming soon.
If FM-X, you may be able to live with using mute or volume offsets if you want control done by A.SW1/2.
Current Yamaha Synthesizers: Montage Classic 7, Motif XF6, S90XS, MO6, EX5R
Thanx, I'll wait for the update and work with scenes then.

Thanx, the item works only not if i'm using fm performances. I'm going to await the update and work with scenes and a midi pedal
then i still have my fc3 pedal for playing falls or doits and things like that.
Sorry, your original post mentions a Piano and Brass. It does not mention FM-X items, at all. XA CONTROL is AWM2 based method to control when an Element is sounding. Naturally, since FM-X has no Elements, a different method of controlling when or if an Operator is sounding should be used.
