vorrei inserire nel live set delle perf in ARP OFF che sono in origine arp on. Cosa devo fare? Devo importarle, salvarle in arp off con un altro nome per poterle usare in partenza ARP OFF?? o c'è un modo più snello? Non sono riuscito a trovare istruzioni.
grazie

I would like to insert in the live set some perfs in ARP OFF which are originally arp on. What should I do? Do I have to import them, save them in arp off with another name to be able to use them at the start ARP OFF ?? or is there a leaner way? I couldn't find any instructions.
Thank you

If these are Performances in the factory Presets or in Library banks then you would need to save a new User bank copy with your edits.

I have an undefined question. I have saved some performances in user memory.
Now I load Multi/GM built-in template and replace into parts the presets from
my user performaces. I have been to save this as new Multi/GM my perf.
When I load it into Montage Waveform Editor by J. Melas I see that missed
LIB:1, LIB:2 etc.
Is it impossible to saves [user] presets into Multis/GM?
Before I have Multi/GM with replaced factory presets no problem.

In fact it is strange..

I don't know what this means exactly.

It is impossible to REPLACE any Preset. The Presets will be there no matter what and will never be altered. In [CATEGORY SEARCH] change the Bank to "Preset" to ensure you only are looking at the Presets. None of these Performances will be your edits. They will only be built-in sounds and will have no way to edit them.

Note that the system does not prevent you from naming a User performance with the same NAME as the presets. In this case, there can be a duplicate name of "Multi/GM". One in the "User" bank and one in the "Preset" bank. Use the bank filter to find the right one.

I would advise always naming your custom Performances something unique such that there is zero confusion. Even "AB - Multi/GM" would be better than keeping the same name as "Multi/GM".

It is possible to start with Multi/GM as the basis for your own custom Performance then replace Parts with custom sounds. It's not a problem. Again, doing this will never replace the Preset. It cannot be overwritten even when you use the same name. Because you never, ever [STORE] Performances in the Preset bank. There's no way. You can only [STORE] to the User bank. You can only load/install into the Library. Those (user & library) banks are the only ones you can place custom content into.

The primary distinction between User and Library is that User allows for editing the Performances in-place. You can overwrite a single Performance in the User bank. The Library bank does not allow for altering/deleting/overwriting a single Performance in the Library. You can only delete the Library as a whole.

I mean Multi/GM resaved into user memory so as just the copy.
However for the first time I replace parts with user saved entries.
Before that I had no experience with multi-track performance.
When push to replace 2-16 part pop-up menu show nowhere, into emptiness.
Only 1-irst part is linked to (Multi/GM) original name does not matter Piano
or Violin replaced... (?)
Performaces name = part name in 1st part.
Other parts linked to ??? (pop-up menu)

I doubt I understand that.

The pats names are shown but where is saved not obviously.

When you do a category search to replace any Part within any Performance (Multi/GM or otherwise) - what you are doing is copying the settings from one (or more) Parts of another Performance into one (or more) Parts of your current Performance.

Each Part is a collection of settings. When you change a Part you're just changing settings. You are not linking some other Part saved elsewhere into your current Performance.

The labels you see on each Part come from either the "Category" or "Name" (depending on the mode of display). To edit this for each Part:

1) Press [PERFORMANCE] (HOME) button
2) Touch the Performance name near the top of the touchscreen
3) Choose "Edit" option from popup
4) Navigate (touch) the "Motion Control" -> "Quick Edit" menu.
5) The second row right-hand side show "Part" - you can change this filter to choose a particular Part
6) The 3 parameters at the top "Part Category Name", "Part Category Sub", and "Part Name" can be edited. Touch any to edit the value. This sets the display of the name or category at the home screen.

Again - there is no link. When you replace a Part with any other content everything about that Part is inside your current Performance. There is no link to any data outside of the current Performance at the Part level.

The previous keyboard generation had the concept of "Voices" where one could save what are today considered Parts into memory. Then one would use these saved Voices as building blocks to build Performances. That is no longer the case. All Performance Parts are customized unique for every Performance. There are no links.

In the past, keyboards have had factory presets that could be overwritten and users have expressed they felt it was a waste of time trying to find the original factory presets on disk online, etc. You can't win them all.

I do admit that the ability to change one voice which instantly updates all Performances using the same user voice does get rid of a time saver the past generation had. On the flip side - you now have much more flexibility. The fact that making one change does not affect multiple Performances is, under many circumstances, more beneficial.

In order to gain back the time - software may be able to help. Something like an editor (3rd party) may make updating multiple Performances with the same edit easier.

Saving a custom User Performance is a 2 step operation that takes very little time. Press [STORE], then name your new User Performance. Time well spent. Especially the naming step - so the name is relatable and easy to find.
