Auto Select for Control-Control Assign page (Firmware version 1.10.6) seems to work for only new Montage Performances. It does not seem to work for any "Voices" that have been migrated from Motif into Performances of Montage. Here are examples:
- If you call up any of the new Performances that have been specifically programmed for Montage, such as "Motion Pad," and then move any of "AsgnKnobs" on Control Assign page, it will be immediately reflected in Display Filter box, as long as "Auto Select" is ON.
- But if you try to do the same for Performances that have been obviously converted from Motif Voices, such as "Full Concert Grand" and thereafter, Auto Select does not work any more. You can still assign any of the available controls manually by clicking Display Filter Box, but you cannot simply assign a controller by turning Auto Select On and moving a controller.
I will take a look at this when I get off this airplane...
But just so you know "AUTO SELECT" box is not used to assign controllers, it is used to "recall" controllers in the DISPLAY FILTER (which is simply a "view filter"). When it is lit green and you touch a controller, what is assigned to it will be displayed. Or you can set it to "All" (version 1.10.x) to view all assign Destinations.
To the lower left of the screen you will see a dedicated button called [CONTROL ASSIGN] - it's function is to automatically assign a new controller to a specific parameter destination. When you see it light up (quarter or half glow) you can hold it and move the controller you wish to assign to the currently highlighted parameter.
In the series of articles on Programming we show you how to use this to quickly and easily assign controllers to any parameter using this [CONTROL ASSIGN] button, and we take you through the AUTO SELECT view filter... Please have a look see...
When you move the cursor to highlight a controllable parameter, the [CONTROL ASSIGN] button will glow, hold it and touch the physical control and it will assign it for you.
AUTO SELECT, on the other hand, is only designed to work the DISPLAY FILTER: example, say you have seven things assigned to the MW, light the "Auto Select" box green, and move the MW, only those Destinations assigned to MW will be displayed. There can be sixteen Destinations per PART, the screen shows you four per PAGE (four Pages).
Hope that helps. I will check on what you've reported later this afternoon. Thanks. There are several things to be looked at when converting data, this is NOT a Motif as I'm sure you are aware, and given there were many versions of XF firmware, there maybe several glitches when converting data from that series to the Montage... We are looking at all issues.
