In my midi monitor assign knob 1-8 don't send midi control change but sysex, why ?

solved : I must select one part in order to transmit CC, if I select performance sysex is trasmitted

From Reference manual :
Assign Knob 1 – 8 (Assignable Knob 1 – 8 Control Number)
Determines the Control Change Number generated by using the Assignable Knob 1 – 8.
Even when the instrument receives MIDI messages with the same Control Change Number specified here
from the external equipment, the instrument assumes that the message is generated by operating the
Assignable Knob 1 – 8.
Settings: Off, 1 – 95

The 8 Rotary Encoders can send cc (Control Change) or they can send Sysex, depending on what function you have currently recalled. Context sensitive

For example, if you press the [ASSIGN] button (next to the Super Knob) then the Knobs will be in ASSIGN function and will send the CC messages. The defaults are cc17-24, but are customizable on a per PERFORMANCE basis.

If you have not lit the [ASSIGN] function the Knobs might be sending [TONE], [EQ/FX], [ARP/MS] "Quick Edit" functions in the upper left area of the front panel - some are standard CC messages, others are SYSEX.

Or if [MULTI] is lit, the Knobs become either PAN (cc10), VAR SEND (cc94) or REV SEND (cc91), for side by side, PARTS 1-8, then 9-16... depending on which row and which PART is selected.

Bottomline, if you want the Assignable Knobs to send the programmed (assigned) cc number you must light that [ASSIGN] button.

To program what the ASSIGN knobs send:
Press [EDIT]
Press upper [COMMON]
Touch "Control" > "Control Number"
Here, on a per Performance basis, you can set what each physical Controller (including the 9 Assign Knobs) will send OUT via MIDI.

All ASSIGN Knob Controllers are sending cc messages as Channel messages when you *select* the Part. Each Part represents a Channel. Yes, the Part must be *selected*... the only thing that makes sense when transmitting [ASSIGN] Knobs since each can be doing something different to each Part. You must press [PART SELECT X] to activate the Part, only now will the Part's Asssign Knob address the Part.

Fundamental to how MONTAGE multi channel transmit works, you must select the Part directly for its eight ASSIGN Knobs to be activated. Each Part has 8 Assign Knobs that are active when the Part is directly selected. To be clear... the KBD CTRL icon lets the Keyboard (and Controllers) to address all Parts simultaneously, in common, if you will... if you additionally press a [PART SELECT X] button, you will notice the COMMON ASSIGN KNOBS in the screen, become "Part x Assign Knob" and you address parameters within that Part - it is this that activates the Part Assign Knob to send a Channel Control Change message. You must, however, directly engage the Part Assign Knob directly.

To have a Knob's assigned functions available at all times, you'd need to link it to one the Super Knob's eight COMMON Assign Knobs. Linking a Part Assign Knob to a COMMON Assign Knob, makes that parameter available at all times (and naturally so only that one Part responds, the message is Sysex). Please see the following discussion on Part Assign and Common Assign Knobs:
