"Normally" the sliders will control the part volumes 1-8. How can I make the sliders to control the element volumes of part 1? Or zone 2?

Hi Quint, there is no "normally", although we certainly understand exactly what you're saying. You mean when on the HOME screen, when the Common level of editing is selected the Faders control Parts 1-8. You want to know when they drop down to control Elements (AWM2), or Operators (FM-X).

When you are on a Performance HOME screen, start to notice where the cursor highlight is located. If you've pressed the [PERFORMANCE (HOME)] button, or you've touched the Home icon in the upper left corner of the screen, the cursor highlights the Performance Name. The [COMMON] button is lit. The Faders control Parts 1-8.

If you move the cursor down to highlight a Part Type/Name, or you touch a Part Select button (right side top row of 8 buttons labeled PART SELECT [1/1]-[8/8], the Fader now become ELEMENT/OSCILLATOR level controls. They now control the individual components of the selected Part.

Or zone 2?

If you wish to activate the Fader to control OUT via MIDI from Zone 2, you must:
1) Activate the Zone Master in UTILITY mode > "Settings" > "Advanced"
2) Within the Performance activate the Zone switch in PART 2. It is found among Part 2's Common parameters. Part Settings.

At that time your Faders can be allocated according to how you setup your Performance (and where the cursor is located), each Part can be setup as a separate Zone for either internal or external devices or both, or neither. As many as eight Zones can be active at one time. Zone 2 can transmit Out on any MIDI channel you select.

Make your settings, press [STORE] - they will be stored with the Performance.

Again the Faders (and the Knobs) will behave according to *where* you have the cursor.

If highlighting the PERFORMANCE name the Fader does as set within your zone settings, if the cursor is moved to the Part Type/Name, it now once again controls the Montage internal Element or Operator, independent of what goes out via MIDI.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for your quick reply. I'm getting my new Montage ready to replace my Motif on stage.

With my Motif, I exclusively use(d) master-mode on stage. When i play a hammond-sound (via an external leslie effect) i can control the draw bars with the sliders.

Now I will use the live sets when I'm on stage. When I select a hammond-sound, I'd like the sliders to be set as drawbars. I manage to do that (as you described above)
by switching to performance control - part x. I was hoping i could do that within the live set, isn't that possible?

(I hope it's clear, apparently, English isn't my native language)

I don't believe it is - on the Motif you associated the Master with Voice mode, Voice mode no longer exists on Montage. I do not believe it is possible from the Live Set screen, without switching to Performance Control. I'm not at a Montage right now, so I cannot check on this right now. Feel free to experiment.
