Hello - the versatility of Montage is tempting me out of just creating sounds, into trying to use them. I have watched many 'demonstrations' that have pretty impressive backing tracks, which I imagine are constructed from Arpeggios, but I have not been able to find a Tutorial that describes how to achieve such credible results. Does such a Tutorial exist, and where do I find it, please? Nothing complicated, preferably - my expertise level is close to zero.
You've done fine so far identifying arpeggios are part of the formula.
Next, search for arpeggio information here. I used google:

You can add "tutorial", but this search returned (as the first few links):

Current Yamaha Synthesizers: Montage Classic 7, Motif XF6, S90XS, MO6, EX5R
Hello Jason - they do exist! Should've thought of Google - thanks! Not quite the simple thing I was hoping for, but it's probably easier sitting at the Montage than trying to imagine it all as you go along. I haven't tried auditioning what's in the Montage - with around 10,000 patterns I guess it would be a waste of time. They never match up to what's in your head, but maybe I'll have a search through using the 'Category Search' method once I have a song firmly in mind. Might get lucky - but I'm expecting to create my own in the end ... thanks again. See how I get on ... might take a month or two ...
