I can edit and store the changes I want to make with Audio Rec on DAW and they then work as expected but when I power down and restart voices 4-8 turn off keyboard control and my A/D Channel reverts from its USB assignment.  How do we submit a bug?

Reproduced - use 'Contact Us' link at bottom of page to report a but.

There is definitely something intermittent going on with the quick setup save stuff. Most of my tests reproduced what you report.

But on a couple of occasions it saved the template without a problem.

I never got this to work on the Montage classic either.  My feedback from Yamaha was that I must be doing something wrong.   I also think there's a thread that may cover some caveats.  I'll dig it up later after someone else posts if they don't dig it up first.  I say this ("after someone else posts" ) because double posts are often flagged automatically as spam.  And there's no real way to edit a message if you're a responder.  Or even if you're the original poster and more than 2 seconds go by (plus or minus 60 seconds then take absolute value).

Current Yamaha Synthesizers: Montage Classic 7, Motif XF6, S90XS, MO6, EX5R

See 'RE:M8X - Exit from Utility screen ...' thread

I never got this to work on the Montage classic either.

Can't be sure but I think OP's template issue could be related to the issues I posted in the thread I just bumped 'RE:M8X - Exit from Utility screen required to save changed parameters across power down.

You posted a thread several years ago about that same 'utility settings not saved' issue

But I don't know if you ever tried the 'exit from utility screen before saving' method I describe in my thread

-h-t-t-p-s-:-/-/-yamahasynth.com/community/montage-series-synthesizers/m8x-exit-from-utility-screen-required-to-save-changed-parameters-across-power-down/#post-126281

In that thread I post test cases that show that if you don't exit the utility screen BEFORE powering down there are some utility screen settings that won't actually be saved.

I haven't been able to create a reproducible test case for the keyboard control/template save issue OP posts about. Most of the time it manifests the behaviour OP describes.

But on occasion the keyboard control settings are saved across a power down. I'm still trying to create a reproducible test case that works consistently and will post it when/if I have a valid one.

I will mention one other thing even though I don't think it applies to OP's specific case. Pressing a template button does nothing more than apply a set of saved values. If you then load a different performance/part that loading may make its own changes and you need to press the template button again to have the template settings applied to the new perf/part you loaded.

Users run into that issue when loading performances one after the other (e.g. using SSS). The template settings don't do any 'enforcement' to changes made by loading a new performance. So using a live set and then selecting the next live set means the template needs to be applied again if you

To submit a bug, you’ll usually need to go through the official support or bug report page for your DAW or the hardware you're using. Look for a "Contact Support" or "Submit Bug Report" section on their website. You might also find a forum where you can post this issue and see if others are experiencing the same thing.
