Can SampleRobot for Montage save into a WAV file - or only a Montage user bank/library format...?

You can only export as the later.
That said, you might be able to get wavs if you dig into the project files.

Sample Robot Pro can.
WAV-Files,
AIFF-Files,
.sfz,
.sf2,
HALion .xml,
Waldorf Blofeld .xml
sxt,
Korg Microsampler .msmpl_bank
The Korg+Wave version supports export in WAV format and costs less than Pro.
Current Yamaha Synthesizers: Montage Classic 7, Motif XF6, S90XS, MO6, EX5R
