I get it that you can organise sounds within a live set and can have 16 sounds visible on the one live set page. If a pedal can be used to scroll through these in order, when it gets to sound 16 does it go back to sound 1 or will it take you to the next live set? If I was setting up a theatre show I could have hundreds of sounds to put in order - can this be managed with live sets?
That's the idea behind the "Live Set" - the name was selected to give you just that very idea. Each LIVE SET features 16 Performances. And each Performance can be one or more sounds, as you may require. The so-called "Gallery" Performances hint that you can store 8 different Scenes per Performance, where a Scene instantly recalls the Mute Status - so it is possible to have several different instrument setups within a single Performance.
There are some 2048 User "Live Set" slots, should cover most gigs...
Foot Switch advances you through multiple Live Sets, so that when you reach the end of the sixteen Performances in USER Bank 1, Page 1 it will advance you to USER Bank 1, Page 2, and so on. At the end of USER Bank 1, Page 16, it advances to USER Bank 2, Page 1 and so on.
That's great - thanks for the quick reply. That's exactly what I'd need for theatre shows and with sss I can change with a pedal and no loss in sound. That was the one thing that the motif xs that I've used for the last 8 years that was a real drawback.
For clarification purposes, when you say the Montage has 2048 'Live Set' slots, does that mean:
1) There are 2048 pages on which you can have 16 performances (what I would consider to be a 'Live Set')
2) There are 2048 slots for user performances contained within 128 pages.
Or does it mean something else?
As I was perusing the data list I only saw 12 live sets. Maybe those are just the pre ordered example live sets that the Montage ships with.
The factory set has 12 of the 16 locations for "Preset" Live Sets filled. This is for retail /example display and to give a first time encounter some idea of what is available.
There are the Preset Live Set (examples), USER Live Sets, and LIBRARY Live Sets.
There are 8 Banks of Live Set setups, USER 1 - USER 8 (initially blank)
Each Bank has 16 Pages.
Each Page is made up of 16 slots
That's 2048 slots in USER.
LIBRARY is a concept of archiving your setups, if you work in several bands that have pretty permanent sets, you have this whole thing again times 8 Libraries. In other words, you could load a set of 640 programs into the USER area; create your Live Sets from these programs...each Library in memory has 8 Banks, with 16 Pages in each. And you can have 8 Libraries on board.
