Add G# under the middle C for the Bosendorfer.......On both pianos there are a few in the middle register that have a pronounced ring sustaining the key.
Middle C is bad enough that I'll return it unless I'm assured that there's a fix for this. 4k Synth, this is not acceptable.

We think you are talking about the CFX (since there is no such thing as a "CTX"). Sorry but, these sounds have been gone over by many, many, many golden ears (not including myself in this at all) - perhaps what you are hearing is either in your system (or in your own ears - since it happens in "earphones" too), perhaps it is the effects or some other something (MIDI loop, etc., etc). But we know that the sounds in the Montage ARE HIGHLY ACCEPTABLE. If you need further confirmation - ask around. Call Customer Support and try to describe your issue a bit better. We do not question you hear what you hear, how can anyone question what another person hears?

Perhaps you have your speakers positioned against an unfortunate background that seems to accentuate certain frequencies in your listening environment. Also you have Effect processing that is in play and you are not accounting for. But if you really think you have an issue after you satisfy yourself. Well...

Really, then you definitely have an issue with your system. Get it checked out. No offense to your $799.00 Yamaha digital piano but, really?!! You think that is possible? Are your speakers and earphones better than the speakers in your digital piano?

Sorry but your wrong BM, went to 3 different Guitar centers and they ALL ring out nice and clear. There were several keyboard players present who all heard the same thing so its not my system or my ears. The middle C on the CTX is absolutely ringing if you sustain the key and hold it down. And its not barely perceptible. 2 of my friends across the country who own them also confirmed it. This needs to be looked into as its a distraction and a sonic hiccup. My ears are good as I have perfect pitch, and yes, my Yamaha digital piano at 799.00 doesn't have this issue. Please forward this up to the engineers as its most definitely an issue.

PS, no MIDI looping just straight CFX......I have now heard it on 4 myself including mine and have had 2 other friends confirm it. Middle C is about the worst place for a ringing note : (

Just got confirmation of a 6th one that does it too. I'm sure its not as obvious to some but when its pointed out everyone hears it.
Try it, hit the middle C and hold the key down,,,,it will ring. Now another observation is that if you play it softly it wont so my guess is that its occurring medium to heavy strikes. Just check it out and fix it please.

I suggest you play a musical piece using the piano sound as you would a natural instrument. This is the intended use. Not designed for hitting one note really hard and holding the down a key. But to each his own.

There is a scintilla of ringing on middle C, but I have to side with Phil on this. Any sample set can be nit picked a little but I don't see how this is a big deal for my playing.

Talked to Avery yesterday and the correct term is a "harmonic"
Seems to happen from the 5th to 10th velocity. He said it might have been sampled from the
CFX that way.....Just sucks that its the middle C.....lol Needless to say I will NOT be purchasing the CFX grand! lol

I've just been trying what Dave suggests, through nearfield monitors and high-end open-back headphones. I'm lucky to be in an environment where there are lots of acoustic grands, hybrid pianos and digital pianos to try. To me, the Montage's CFX and Bösendorfer voices sound just like the real things - harmonics, overtones, natural resonances and all - and they're magical to play on Montage! 🙂

Before checking this out, I hadn't noticed the key-off components of the performances - amazing work by the Montage team.

Excellent observation. We have a saying, we don't want every customer, only those who can hear the difference! These are real instruments with lots of character - the finger noises on the guitar sounds to some are flaws, to others they are the essence of realism.
