I now have a PC running Windows 10 hooked up via USB to my Montage. I've seen somewhere around here that in this situation, the Montage is acting as the sound card for my PC.

This becomes a problem when the PC wants to beep at me. It's a problem because those Windows beeps come out of the Montage speakers really loud. I found a place in the Windows sound mixer where I can set the volume of System sounds much lower than the sounds that Cubase wants to play by sending MIDI to the PC. So far, so good, but it doesn't always work. I'm still getting really loud System sounds occasionally.

Does anyone know of a way to reliably separate the volume of the music I'm playing from the volume of the PC's System sounds?

Thanks. That's the setting I found. The problem is, it doesn't seem to work in all situations. Every now and then I still get a really loud beep.

I'm hoping there's there's some other setting that can fix the rest of the problem…
