The installation guide for the new USB Driver includes these steps:
[list=9]
On my Windows machine, step 9 was impossible because there was no such entry in the Start menu. Despite this, the installation was successful and everything (Montage 3.5, the new Montage Connect) works, but it's disconcerting when you follow the steps and they lead you off a cliff.
Windows 10, completely updated. Surface Pro tablet.
Can you be more clear about the version of Windows 10 the Surface Pro tablet runs? (we'll have to check into this)... On my Windows 10 computer, it appears exactly as written.
Click Start > You should see a listing of your items, "Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver" is listed alphabetically under the letter "Y" with all the other Yamaha items.
The only item in the Folder is the CONTROL PANEL.
Turns out it was my mistake. I typically use the keyboard a lot instead of the mouse. So instead of clicking the Start Menu, I hit the Windows key and then typed in “Yamaha.”
This pattern of use usually works for me, but in this case what came up was the various folders I had downloaded the update software into. The item described in the instructions was not there.
So just now I used the mouse instead and got to exactly what the instructions said.
Sorry for the wild goose chase. Sometimes when I think I know what I’m doing, I actually don’t… 😀
I do the same thing - Win + Type stuff (search here). That gets me most places. But Yamaha's programs don't come up well this way.
Sticking with the keyboard - you could press: Win then Tab Tab(again) then "Y". This gets you, with keyboard, in the "Y"'s. Then up/down arrows.

Thanks, Jason. Good to know...
