I've noticed that the ESP plug-in doesn't respond to midi inputs after the Windows host recovers from a hybrid sleep state.
Now I don't know if Cubase 13 is involved as well or it's just the ESP but I can say that I can continue to play audio from Cubase after the resume state, just no midi input command to the ESP.
Obviously I've set the DAW host to never sleep but occasionally I close the lid to darken the screen. I've also set all the USB ports to not allow Windows to shut them off to save power.
Just wondering what typical Cubase VSTi behavior is after a resume from a Windows sleep state.
Stuart.
Closing the lid and turning off the monitor vs going to sleep should be independent. I have had all of my laptops configured to never sleep by timeout or lid closing.
Sweetwater has a windows optimization guide that runs through a lot of stuff.. The guide I read was win10 focused but is probably good even if you're using win11.
As far as common - there are lots of discussions out there detailing issues recovering from sleep using any DAW any PC (i.e. Windows), any OS (including MacOS), any software mix, etc. Some report no issues but this seems to be the exception.

I'm quite familiar with Windows OS having worked with it since v1. 0 back in the early 90s. Windows 11 changes the Power settings somewhat from V10 but I'll have to double check to be sure I've disabled Sleep for lid closure and that USB selective suspend is still available to be disabled as well.
Thanks for the comments.

I'll add, for those wanting to set their Windows 11 DAW host properly, that you may need to restore both the High Performance power plan as well as the settings for USB Selective suspend. These are often no longer exposed in the Power settings GUI. You can find details on enabling these by using a Google search.
