[quotePost id=123603]Daryl makes excellent points here. We were using Ideascale for the Montage line and were told that Yamaha had migrated to a firmware-based update model. Remember "more to come!" Then they were silent for along time and did this instead. The last update we got was something for the pitch bend wheel. Yippee. I also recall Yamaha claiming that the Montage was based on getting lots of user input before development. That cannot be the case now, can it?[/quotePost]
The thing is, I never expected much from Ideascale, but always hoped. I could ok with all the other ideas that they never added to the Montage, but the C7 really got me when I heard them demo it on the Montage M. Probably because it was one of my first Ideascale ideas that I added. All I ever expected was that they might provide a C7 library some day like they did with the Bosendorfer. I held out hope until the end of the Montage because I knew there was the K-Sounds Epic Grand. But as a final farewell to the Montage, I would have expected them to provide a C7 library instead of Upright pianos that are mostly not useful...and then to see that baked it into the Montage M, which I will not be able to afford, it didn't feel that great and made me question the whole Ideascale concept...
I think the whole Montage M is great, but this particular thing is more personal and stems from the beginning. Some condescending jack wipes who love to just troll anyone they want would never understand from all the way up there...as if we are not allowed to share a genuine reaction to something, or thou shalt be trolled, and trolls can't resist the bait

We should have known from Yamaha's past. The MOTIF Series... From the original MOTIF "Classic" to the MOTIF ES, onto the MOTIF XS and MOTIF XF. Imagine someone buying every new model just to keep up. Thats 4x for the same keyboard.

The more you post, the more stupid you make yourself look. This is downright funny. Go take a walk. :p

The more you insult people as being stupid & laugh at them looking down along your nose at them, and troll their posts whenever you can over the years that you've been on here, like you've done many times in the past as your MO, the more you show what a negative, arrogant, troll you continue to practice being. Go back under your bridge for a while!

I couldn't imagine keeping up. I know some on here will skip a generation or two, but keeping up would be quite costly. For me, I barely was able to afford the Montage and still don't have it paid for ... but it was worth the money, despite my gripe with how they are handling the C7 piano. Buying the new Montage replacement was never an option for me ... there's always hope to win the lotto I suppose 😀

[quotePost id=123625]Agreed on the C7 a million percent. Yamaha should be continuing to make efforts to make the Montage (and original MODX) actually sound Yamaha-ish in terms of pianos, as there's no reason not to be doing this. It's a Yamaha thing to be great at pianos, and wouldn't hurt them to do, at all.
[/quotePost]

I just think it's wrong that every other stage keyboard and arranger workstation Yamaha have out (CP, YC, Genos, etc.), even the CK, have a C7 onboard, but not their previous Flagship synth, nor their current MODX+. I realize there is no physical memory for it to be a preset on the Synth line (prior to the Montage M), but it could & should be added as a library, as it is the most recorded piano for pop/rock...

11/20/2018 - This is when I submitted the idea to Ideascale for the "Yamaha C7 Grand Piano Library for Montage/MODX"
https://yamahasynth.ideascale.com/c/idea/41985
Since pianos is the most important sound for me, and this is one of my first Ideascale ideas, this one means more to me than it might for others...

Perhaps they will release the C7 library for Montage/MODX/MODX+ owners at some point, as a gesture of thanks & seeing as the MODX+ is still relatively new and may likely receive future updates, but I'm not holding out much hope like I may have in the past...
