Or do you mean by external software outside of using Montage, after the WAV file is on your computer? If that's the case, I can only really help with PC:

thank you for your help. yes, i was talking about the wave-files which are generated by the montage on the usb-storage (when connected). so, there is maybe no way to tag thoose files inside the montage menu.

No, Montage doesn't support editing these tags in the system. I'm not sure that there's a huge call from others to support this - so you may be on an island. In which case, using external software may not be the worst "solution" keeping in mind the population that would want this feature. Still, there's a forum (ideascale) where you can suggest features and if others agree they will vote for (or against) your idea.

thanks Jason ... so, i am not on an island isolated with the montage and i have access to third party software like you mentioned. its ok and not so nessersary needed, but it should be not too complicated to make this as an extra button in the audio menu. maybe they by themselv will do in some update. its enough space for addition buttons there. cheers from bavaria

Maybe an island - but you can use the link I provided to test those waters and see if others agree that this feature is desired. And, at least, place your request into the R&D team's hands.
