Never messed with FM synthesis, Had on OB modular, ARP, so used to starting with basic wave forms and tweaking. So excuse the dumb question but here goes: How hard is it to create sounds from scratch using FM synthesis.... on the Montage. For example I would never try to create a Mega Voice Arp... (man you got good engineers), but I use the Mega voices/arps all the time. Is FM synthesis similar? Creating great sounds from scratch... easy or Mega Hard???

It's a good way to start 😉
Just wow...., a whole new universe to play in.
I was going to recommend the same. Series. After that - there's plenty of content for the DX series out there to branch out on. The concepts are the same although menu structure is slightly different. Once you start to get it through the tutorials - the lack of similarity in menu structure will not be a barrier to using DX7 (etc) tutorials to your advantage.
