Thank you Yamaha for this. I've made much to do about this over several years and concerning at least three synth iterations in this product line.

A few questions please,
Does it default to the last loaded performance's tempo, or can you enter the value?
Does the Global condition and it's value get saved and remembered at next power on?
Does it follow MIDI clock from external?
Does it follow the on-screen "Tap Tempo" function when in GLOBAL?

Sorry, I’m not sure what you mean with this question. If you turn Global Tempo = On, then you are manually setting the tempo.

Does the Global condition and it's value get saved and remembered at next power on?

Well, no. The default is GLOBAL TEMPO = OFF... which means each Performance stores and recalls the tempo for that Performance. When GLOBAL TEMPO = On... you can set the tempo globally.

Does it follow MIDI clock from external?

The MONTAGE can follow its own clock, it can follow MIDI clock sent in from an external device, or it can derive tempo from the A/D Input. When you select an external clock source, the global tempo is determined by the external device, period.

Does it follow the on-screen "Tap Tempo" function when in GLOBAL?

Of course, if Global is On, then the tempo you tap will apply to all clickable MONTAGE functions from this point on. “Global” means tempo is now set manually.

Why not? As I've said several times Global Tempo is a must and Yamaha finally agrees but, since I work mostly in rehearsal situations and now film, I am following a predetermined meter. Why must we have to manually re-set it back to Global, there is no reason, let us decide of we want to work at a certain tempo for a period not the machine, please just let this parameter be saved. You can not possibly offer a musically reasoned explanation for this. All of my other tempo adjustable audio/musical devices do.. This is music. Speak to the proper folks at your company and have them fix that

I’m not sure I understand your request. I tell you what, get the update next week and see if it fits your needs. Then let us know.

Thanks Phil. That is very fair and very welcomed. I will certainly do as you have suggested.
