I have the green knob saying "connected" but if I click on a eprformance it does not transfer to the Montage but I get to a page wanting me to input title and description, see my screenshots.

please, can anyone tell me how to get this really simple looking page to work?

When you want to Send a selected Performance to your MONTAGE’s Edit Buffer you click on the word “Sync” — this will synchronize what you have selected with your hardware (MONTAGE).

The Performance will appear in your instrument’s Edit Buffer, if you wish to play it, you can; you can edit it further and press [STORE] to write it to your internal User Bank. Or you can open MONTAGE CONNECT and store a copy there, or store it to your “PRIVATE” collection... (Please do not repost it to Soundmondo as Public — because it already is Public!!!) thanks.

yes, that´s how it should work but it doesn´t. Nothing gets sent to the Montage. I had this working in the past thow, on another computer... How can it be that I show connected but nothing gets sent?
- Chrome tells me it´s up to date and "Version 71.0.3578.80"
- Midi on Montage is set to USB
- Montage Connect works fine and receives and sends performances from and to Montage

You have to click on “Sync”

yes. I am clicking sync. nothing gets transmitted. I guess something wrong with this computer.

I had to install a new graphics card and after that my soundcard no longer works, guess it´s over with the card since I have no idea how to get it to run again, thank god Montage is an audio interface and I no longer really need the card... do you think this soundcard that does not work but is still inside the pc could cause chrome´s midi to fail?

update: works with laptop, so pc problem, probably disfunctional soundcard causing midi failure on chrome...

Does your driver have a number before it? If it does then you have to uninstall the driver and reinstall it again.

well, no idea how too look at the driver and check if it has a number (in windows 7). the soundcard has vanished from the device manager. it´s time to take the thing out, I suppose, since I cannot fix it.
we´ll see if soundmondo works after it´s out.

If your Yamaha Steinberg USB driver is "out of wack" so you cannot see it in Device Manager - then your issue is probably somewhere else.

That said, refer to: https://www.yamahasynth.com/ask-a-question/soundmondo-not-connecting-to-montage-via-chrome-on-windows-10

To check this, can you read me off the name of your MONTAGE driver?

I have seen that when there is a number before the name "2 MONTAGE-1", Soundmondo has issues. In order to restore function what you need to do is fully uninstall the Yamaha Steinberg USB drivers and re-install the latest drivers. This should restore the driver name back to "MONTAGE-1" without the prefix number.

Or https://www.yamahasynth.com/ask-a-question/not-very-clear-where-edited-renamed-and-saved-parts-go

If you're using a PC - there are many prerequisites. Even having those - the driver install may have become "corrupted", at least for Soundmondo's usage. You can tell this is the case if your driver name has any digit BEFORE "MONTAGE". Like "2-MONTAGE" or "2 MONTAGE-1". It's what's before (not after). This is a driver instance. Soundmondo can't handle anything except for a blank instance. "MONTAGE" or "MONTAGE-1". If there's a digit before "MONTAGE" in the driver name, Soundmondo croaks. The cure is to uninstall the Yamaha Steinberg USB drivers and re-install.

That's about all that's required in addition to the normal setup instructions I'm aware of that helps people.

You should be able to view these in device manager when Montage is connected. You should also be able to see "Line (MONTAGE)" when you click on the windows taskbar speaker icon (audio) to see see the current audio destination -- assuming you have Montage set as the system audio interface. When it is broken, you will see "Line (X - MONTAGE)" where "X" is a digit before "MONTAGE". The following screenshot shows someone who has captured a broken (for Soundmondo's purposes) driver. "Broken" is a matter of interpretation. The driver is working fine - but Soundmondo is not resilient enough to accept the digit before "MONTAGE" which is a coding issue of Soundmondo more than it's a driver fault. Cubase and DAWs are able to "roll with the punches" of the extra digit because these applications are not "hard coded" to specific expectations. Hopefully soon this will become invalidated and Soundmondo will be modified to accept the driver name variances.

Montage is capable of showing up in device manager without the Yamaha Steinberg Drivers installed. In which case, standard built-in drivers are used and also limits the features. Since I do not see the "Line" designation, I'm wondering if this device is showing up without the Yamaha Steinberg USB drivers - instead using the class-compliant (MS) drivers.

mhhh, I reinstalled the Steinberg driver, the device manager still looks the same without a line icon, but Soundmondo works now! weird. so it´s not the old soundcard, which I still did not remove, but it was the Steinberg driver, which worked with everything except Soundmondo...
oh dear..
thank you for your suggestions!
