How to add arpegiated bass line to performance

Now that I've added a drum kit with an arp to my performance, I also want to add a bass with an app and have that arp follow the root note I play on the keyboard. I've seen this on some existing patches but am not sure how to put all the pieces together. Could someone walk me through the basics?

From the HOME screen... touch the “+” in the slot for PART 2 to ADD a new instrument.
You will be taken the CATEGORY SEARCH “Performance Merge” screen.
Here you can select the “Bank”, “Attributes” of the sound you which to ADD as your Bass.

Since you are ‘snorkeling’ (before wading out into deep waters) set the Attibute = Single... this will show just Single Part programs (green) listed on the screen.
Set the Main = Bass
Set the Sub = the type of Bass you’d like to hear...
Select a Bass for Part 2

Now you can assign Arpeggios to the Part.

Return to the HOME screen (simply touch the [ENTER] button)
Touch “Motion Control” > “Arpeggio”

Here you will see the eight Arp Select items across the bottom of the screen. And the Part listed vertically.
Part 1 will appear at the top, with its currently assigned Arp Type.
For Part 2 Touch that Category area to see a pop-in menu that will allow you Search for an Arp.

Arp Category Search (purple) let’s you search for Arps in a similar fashion to how you searched for a Part

Thanks Phil. What causes the selected ARP to follow the pitch of my key presses?

The Arpeggio is assigned as a Part Common parameter... this means that all the Elements/Operators will be addressed by the Arpeggio data as long as it meets the following two requirements: Note Limit Range, and Velocity Limit Range.

From HOME
Press [EDIT]
Press [PART SELECT X]
To view the Part parameters

Press the lower [COMMON] button or in the lower left corner of the screen both your Part and Common are blue
Touch “Arpeggio” > “Common”
Here you see the parameters that determine how the Arpeggiator assigned to this Part will behave.

The KEY MODEs determine whether your trigger notes are used to conduct the Arpeggio phrase, or whether your trigger notes are going to be heard.

There are 5 Key Modes: in general for normal play...
• Sort: Notes play a pre-arranged arp pattern
• Thru: Notes play in the order they are pressed
• Direct: The trigger notes sound (used for “Controller” Type Arps)
• Sort+Direct: Both the pre-arranged arp pattern and the trigger notes are heard
• Thru+Direct: Both the arp notes played in the order pressed and the trigger notes are heard

There are NOTE LIMIT settings for the Part. These determine whether your Bass will play (sound) notes within the range set Low Limit/High Limit.
There are NOTE LIMIT settings within the Arpeggio setup ... these determine which notes on the keyboard will act as input for the Arpeggiator to analyze. Remember, the Arpeggiator can change the output data based on an analysis of the keys pressed.

You set the Arp Note Limits so that, for example, only your left hand influences the resulting phrase, not your right hand.

The same applies to Velocity... and Velocity Limits.
