Reference Manual page 178-179. (Brief though it is)...
You can manage your internal data as follows:

Load your Motif XF (.X3A) data to Montage internal User...

Press [UTILITY] > select "Contents" > "Data Utility" > select the PERFORMANCE folder.
This will display all of the current Performances in memory. The User memory can hold 640. Your Motif XF will only fill 544 of the 640. (512 normal, 32 drum).
You can view them by Name or Date.
Touch "Job" in the upper right corner, you can now SELECT (places a check mark in the Performance box) the ones you would like to Delete.
You are shown 12 Performances at a time. You can scroll Pages at the bottom of the screen.

Once you have cleaned up your Motif XF data, make sure you save a backup Montage file.
Your options are to SAVE a Montage USER File (.X7U) or SAVE a Montage LIBRARY File (.X7L)

A USER file will be able to load your data back to the User locations whenever you need it. User memory remains between power cycles, but is overwritten when you load a different .X7U file.

A LIBRARY file once saved, can be used to Load your data into one of eight "Library" locations that remain accessible at all times. It will not be overwritten by loading a different User or different library file. It is placed in semi-permanent Read Only Memory. (Unlike the Motif XF's Flash boards - not only do your Waveforms and Samples remain in this area, as many as 640 Performances and eight Banks of sixteen Live Sets made from that data. (It is Read Only Memory, so to make changes to it, you move it into USER, edit it, and reinstall it to the Library location)

I do have a follow-up question, - Where can I see how much of the 1.75GB Internal Flash User Memory is free/used?

I see places in the manual for seeing: free/used space of folders on connected devices, free/used User Performance slots, free/used Library slots... I'm at a loss of how to select the entire internal User Memory to seesaw much is used/free...

I think I found it, - In Utility>Contents>Data Utility you have to select MONTAGE>Waveform> then it shows free/used Sample Memory. Correct?
