I think my original Montage looks great but the new white one looks even better so gorgeous and I want it .
it's just sad to me that because I was an early adapter buying the Montage , I won't be able to have a white one now .
I wish Yamaha had an upgrade path to the white version for those owners who already bought the black one , after all we're the ones who made the Montage a success .
That's probably not out of the realm of possibility, Yamaha does have parts ordering. So you could possibly just order a top and rear cover piece in white. Probably would cost an arm and a leg and i sure wouldn't want to do the tear down.
Let's here your proposal of what such an upgrade path would consist of.?
One upgrade path is to sell your keyboard and buy a white one. The difference in sale price to purchase price ("lost" money) is the cost of a paint job, warranty extension, and brand new parts. Which - if an early adopter - would be 3 years newer parts. You may come out ahead vs. buying the chassis parts. Or may not - I haven't researched it.

... did Kronos have an upgrade path for the hardware? I think they released a version with new colors and endcaps every couple months early on. Yes, I know there were subtle other changes to each version - but the "churn" was fairly frequent. I don't think there's a responsibility for companies to give upgrade paths on cars, boats, houses, or synths. Software is different because there's no tangible costs to a download and nothing really to "throw out" (recycle, resell).

If you're concerned with getting the white aesthetic perfect, the panel with the LED rings would also have to be replaced as the new rings are white.
I want a "Blue" one! :p
