I don't feel like they are cheap. Superb quality IMO.

I liked the original knobs with the texture on then, and the red colour leds around them was nice to look at...but the colour would not fit the current new layout.

I do think the colour of the touch strip would be better in red, you know for that knightrider, and old battlestar galactica glowing scanner eye thing. 😎 

This whole knob, faders and all around quality obsession with Montage M is really getting old and tired. First, come to the realization that all new products (no matter what it is) will be way more expensive than what you were use to prior to 2020. This is what happens when socialist hacks take control of the global economy. So mind your ideology when you pick your leaders. Second, nothing remains the same and if there is any quality difference that’s life and choose another product that is better. Good luck with this one.

Mainly, stop letting those that like to be downers sway your emotions. I for one think the Montage M is of excellent quality and the M8x is unmatched in its specific category. The obsession people have over silly things like knobs and faders borders on needing some medication. They’re not even talking about the actual electronic part, but the plastic gizmo that is easily removed and replaced if for some reason in 10 years they are not holding up. If you’re someone that beats the hell out of your equipment then I can’t respond to that. 

Just last night I had someone trying to yank my chain over a simple comment I made on YouTube months ago saying good things about the Montage M8x. This joker was going on about how ESP has been pirated and available online for free and how I was an idiot for spending $4500. Then talking down every aspect of the different engines and saying how VST’s are the way to go. Typical stupid talking points. The really crazy thing is he starts saying the Groove Synthesis 3rd wave, a $5000 system is better. If I didn’t know the differences and the pros and cons I might have been sucked in. I really don’t know what it is about the Montage M that has some people’s panties in a bunch. Really the only thing I can come up with is that it is really so good that it’s just plain jealousy (like aways) that motivates these creeps.

This stuck out as unnecessary, as I completely disagree with it, so it took my focus away from all the other valid points you were trying to make, including the part about products being way more expensive than prior to 2020.  I agree to disagree on this part above   🤔 

However, after re-reading the rest, I agree with pretty much everything else you said 😉

Good luck with that too! If you find one tell me! ( but not in this place) We are out of this forum but whatever you labeling the politics, one fact remain: there are producing anomalies in the system, the economical system is an anomalies and that why I said in another post that it was quite a miracle that a product like the montage came to life! If I had to pick up only one synth for travelling to another galaxie, I will choose the Montage and certainly the last model. But beyond that, the montage itself brings some anomalies too, they are symptomatic . and I am not speaking about knobs as I could not touch them until now. But about this photo that came from another forum where a guy was complaining, it looks like he got a defective unit.

the facts are: few years ago, there was no gap between gear price in Japan vs Europe. I could check myself on the place many time but now in Japan the M8x cost 30% less than in Europe (and salaries are quite the double than in France).

If there was no tension between Japan and China, I will go live there 🤣
