While I wouldn't personally recommend doing this, with some masking tape and nail polish you could probably change the color of the orange buttons to something else.

I was going to mention both nail polish and opaque tape as ways to get rid of the LED illumination when the initial request was to turn them off.

You could get a sharpie and draw red on them as well. Or find translucent contact paper/sticky back something or other that can be cut to size for each button and stuck on.

There's "DIY" class mods that could be done.
