They are entirely different things. A Motion Sequence is a user defined control automation - like an arpeggiator that doesn't trigger notes, but rather allows you to automate any kind of parameter change. For example, it could control Volume change, Element panning, Filter Cutoff, etc., etc. it can tempo sync'd, or run freely, it can be looped or triggered as a one-shot on demand...
