The M operations doc has new, and different wording for drum parts when explaining the InsRev, InsVar, KeyRev and KeyVar parameters.
The key question is whether the M has new/different functionality as regards drum parts, drum keys and effect processing or if it has the same functionality as before but these doc sections now have different working?
If there is new/different functionality in the M how is it different from the classic Montage?
This is what the Modx Reference doc says on p.137 and is the same for the Montage classic on p.123
InsRev (Insertion Reverb Send)
InsVar (Insertion Variation Send)
Determines the Send level for the entire Drum Part (all keys), sent from Insertion Effect A/B to the Reverb/
Variation effect.
This is active only when the Drum Key Connection Switch is set to “InsA” or “InsB” and the Part Output/
Drum Key Output is set to “MainL&R.”
Settings: 0–127
Notice the first line says 'for the entire Drum Part (all keys)' and the last line only has "MainL&R"
Compare that to p.358 of the M Operations doc
InsRev (Insertion to Reverb Send Level)
InsVar (Insertion to Variation Send Level)Sets the level of the Drum Key signals sent to Insertion Effect A or Insertion Effect B to the
Reverb or Variation Effect.
This setting is applied to the entire Drum Part (all Drum Keys).
This parameter is available only when Connect (Drum Key Connection Switch) is set to InsA or
InsB, and Part Output is set to MainL&R or Drum.Settings: 0–127
KeyRev (Drum Key Reverb Send)
KeyVar (Drum Key Variation Send)
Determines the Send level for each Drum Key, sent from Insertion Effect A/B to the Reverb/Variation effect.
This is active only when the Drum Key Connection Switch is set to “Thru” and the Part Output/Drum Key
Output is set to “MainL&R.”
Settings: 0 – 127
KeyRev (Drum Key Reverb Send Level)
KeyVar (Drum Key Variation Send Level)Sets the level of the drum key signals sent to Insertion Effect A or Insertion Effect B to the
Reverb or Variation Effect.
This parameter can be set for each Drum Key.
This parameter is available when Connect (Drum Key Connection Switch) is set to Thru, and
either when Part Output is set to Main, or when Part Output is set to Drum and Drum Key Out is
set to MainL&R.
Settings: 0–127
The first sentence of each just seems to be a clarification on the wording but the same meaning.
But the end of the M quote now includes 'or when Part Output is set to Drum and Drum Key Out is set to MainL&R'.
Does that represent:
1. new functionality in the M?
2. a bug fix, omission from the classic Montage
3. something else?
