  • Greetings,

I've used a Yamaha electronic drum kit to trigger Drum Samples and Drum sounds from my Montage.

I have adjusted velocity and it works pretty well aside from some machine gunning. But I'd like to have more feel when I play drums and I'm looking for help on getting layered drum sounds or any other suggestions.

I have everything set to midi channel 10.

    Thanks Very Much!!

  • Hi Geoffrey,
The most efficient and easiest way to layer drum sounds in your situation is with the Yamaha Electronic Drum Kit... it is able to send multiple Note-On events to quickly trigger multiple notes in a MONTAGE Drum Kit Part. (Layers)

Your question is best handled by looking in the Owner’s Manual for your Electronic Kit... Midi Note assignment.

    On the receiving end...
The MONTAGE does allow you to import .wav or aiff data to build your own layered percussion sounds and Kits
You can construct your own Waveforms and design your own Kits within MONTAGE.

    Hey Mister,

Thanks! I have never looked into Note-On aspects before. Really appreciate your help.
