Hi community,
since a few days I have a Montage 6 🙂

Environment:
DAW: Sonar 8 Producer,
Interface: MOTU USB/Midi Interface (Midi express 128)
Synths: Yamaha Motif Rack ES, Roland Integra 7, Korg PA 80, Yamaha FB01.
Note: I cannot use the Montage USB, since the USB driver does not work for my OS.
I use Montage-6 in Multi/GM mode.

Other than the other synts, the Montage-6 seems to have problems, recognizing Bank select /program change data,
the DAW software sends at the beginning of playing back the tracks. Only the first instrument is set,
all other remain unchanged. If I do the changes manually in the DAW by selecting each Montage-6 track and set the bank
and the program via the Sonar comboboxes, this works fine. It works fine too, if I select a Montage-6 track in "Solo", start
the DAW, stop it and repeat this sequence for the remaining 15 channels.
I've checked the Bank selects via the MidiOX tool. The sequence is correct, but it comes very fast:
TIMESTAMP IN PORT STATUS DATA1 DATA2 CHAN NOTE EVENT (start DAW)
0000370E 1 2 B0 00 3F 1 --- CC: Bank MSB
0000370F 1 2 B0 20 00 1 --- CC: Bank LSB
00003710 1 2 C0 1A -- 1 --- PC: Elec Jazz Guitar
00003711 1 2 B1 00 3F 2 --- CC: Bank MSB
00003711 1 2 B1 20 02 2 --- CC: Bank LSB
00003712 1 2 C1 0B -- 2 --- PC: Vibraphone
00003713 1 2 B2 00 3F 3 --- CC: Bank MSB
00003714 1 2 B2 20 01 3 --- CC: Bank LSB
00003714 1 2 C2 5E -- 3 --- PC: Pad 7(halo)
...
The following sequence works correctly: manually set via Sonar Bank select / program change combobox boxes.
The only difference to the sequence above are the time stamps.
TIMESTAMP IN PORT STATUS DATA1 DATA2 CHAN NOTE EVENT (manual)
0007B917 1 2 B0 00 3F 1 --- CC: Bank MSB
0007B917 1 2 B0 20 00 1 --- CC: Bank LSB
0007B918 1 2 C0 1A -- 1 --- PC: Elec Jazz Guitar
0007EC54 1 2 B1 00 3F 2 --- CC: Bank MSB
0007EC55 1 2 B1 20 02 2 --- CC: Bank LSB
0007EC56 1 2 C1 0B -- 2 --- PC: Vibraphone
000808D6 1 2 B2 00 3F 3 --- CC: Bank MSB
000808D6 1 2 B2 20 01 3 --- CC: Bank LSB
000808D7 1 2 C2 5E -- 3 --- PC: Pad 7(halo)
...
What I have already tried is not to have all Montage-6 tracks one after the other in the DAW. Instead, I've put them in between
the tracks of the other synts to get some more time in between the Banks selects (but this did'nt help to solve the
problem). I know, I can add a bank select/program change control events in front of the track data directly, but this
is not really a convenient way.

Any idea? Please help.
Thanks in advance and best regards
Peter
