Hello
I'm a soon to be a Montage 8 owner. i will be using my Montage for live performances. I am fully aware of it's size and weight and am in a quandry concerning what type of case I should get. I've had a number of 88 note keyboards in the past, as well 76 and 61 note. Lately, I've been a Gator Case ends user and have been alternating between the Lightweight Keyboard cases and TSA ATA versions. My concern is that although I know the strengths of having an TSA ATA molded case, the Lightweight case has also served me well. My Montage will be on gigs about once a month, and like all my gear, it is babied and handled with the utmost respect. I want to have good protection for it, but at the same time would like to not increase the already large size of thr Montage I would really appreciate appreciate some opinions on how Montage 8 owners are addressing fhis issue.
Thanks!
Mark
Given the cost and possibility of transport damage to my Montage 88 to-and-from gigs, I ordered the Gator 88-Key TSA Keyboard Case.
Pros: Keyboard is protected.
Cons: 100 lbs+ with keyboard and case.
Cheers,
Karl
I use this one. It is a custom-made Flightcase. Solid and fits perfectly, no slack space.Be careful to check inner AND outer sizes of other cases.

Dear Karl,
The height of Montage 8 is 2mm taller than the Gator case. Does Montage 8 fit into the carry case you ordered?
When I checked the specification of both the keyboard and the case, the height or Montage 8 (170mm) is a little bit taller than that of the Gator case (168mm, internal dimension). I guess the 2mm difference should be fine considering the sponge inside the Gator case, but wanted to confirm because of the high price of the case.
Thanks in advance!
I'd have to dig up my notes on what I used on the Montage 88. It was one TSA or the other. There was a used one with the same case - so I figured I'd order the same one that seemed to be working for someone else. The weight was unbearable - so I switched to a Montage7.
By itself, the Montage8 is already heavy - have to protect it with the most durable case. I mean, a basket with fancy seats may weigh hundreds of pounds - but it's nothing compared to the elephant.
The custom flight case isn't a bad idea. Usually, there's a local manufacturer if you have any local industry that ships semi-large to larger items around.
