Montage Connect is Offline, just bought Montage 8 firmware version 3.51.0, Streinberg USB Driver V3.1.1
The drop down on Montage Connect says “No Asign” the Firmware field is blank. Bottom right hand states Montage Connect 1.1.0
I am using Cubase 12 Artist. Just purchased. I can’t connect with Cubase open or Cubase closed. I have rebooted many times.
I have the midi port set to USB. All other settings are as instructed by the many videos I have watched.
The Live Set Editor and Performance Editor both work as expected. They can communicate with the Montage. I also get sound from the PC when Cubase is up.
I think probably some update is ahead or behind another
From the driver version I infer you're using Mac. All of those versions seem current. Apple silicon or Intel? OS version?

Apple silicon requires some extra steps:
Apple silicon also is said to require running Rosetta to translate the non-native (x86) apps over to Apple Si.
See this thread for an Apple Si success story: https://yamahasynth.com/forum/modx-connect-not-finding-my-modx8-in-logic-pro-x+
OS may be different - but there may be something useful in there for you.

Sorry Jason
Yes, I am using a MacBook Pro 2019 macOS Monterey 12.2.1
My MacBook Pro has an intel core i7 processor
I am presently running the Total Library Bulk transmission successfully.
Montage Connect still will not go online
For Intel, there's not as much special to do. I'm running Intel too. However, Monterey is "too new" for me so I actively ignore the update requests to keep from having compatibility issues (not just for the synth).
The Mac driver v3.1.1 claims support for Monterey. I'm not sure there should be huge barriers here although Monterey is an unknown for me.

As I’ve said. Everything seems to work except Montage Connect. For now, is there anyway to use Cubase 12 with the Montage without Connect?
Hello,
We are looking into this and will let you know what we find out.
Connect is not a requirement for any DAW. Connect is a "helper" but not a requirement. Blake and team will check it out the functionality of Connect under the new OS environment.

The issue is Connect functionality in Cubase 12. Connect works in Cubase 11, but as Steinberg promised [Native Apple silicon support (as of December 2021): all upcoming major product releases will be available as native applications that do not have to rely on Rosetta 2 anymore]. Cubase 12 is native and does not require Rosetta 2. The current version of MONTAGE and MODX Connect still require Rosetta and are not native. Again, we'll keep you informed when there is as update. Fortunately the USB connectivity for MIDI and audio both work under Monterery.
The OP wouldn't use Rosetta since the issue they are having is without Apple silicon - it's with an Intel system where Rosetta doesn't apply. Hopefully, this configuration is being captured and tested to see if this works under Monterey. I don't have a way to do it due to lack of the OS. In this case, I have the hardware to do it - just not the will to upgrade my OS to give it the college try.
Other users are having issues with Apple Si - and this answer would apply better to them (different threads).
At any rate - thanks for getting involved. There are lots of things happening at Steinberg between Apple Si and the new licensing system. Seems like a perfect storm of new tech.

I appreciate all the help and attention you folks are providing. I am new to the Montage and the last DAW I used successfully was years ago with Sonar and my Motif ES8 on a Windows based system.
2 questions
Do I have to open Steinberg Driver every time I turn my MacBook on and go to Cubase or is it installed just once?
Second question, even though I have Intel would it be worth it for me to try installing driver as if I had the Apple Silicon?
