I did take a look if this existed or not and finally gave up - maybe a repeat maybe not ...

The above video explains Montage M's MIDI implementation and walks through several of the differences in the new M vs the Classic (and MODX) way of working. I took a look and it looked good. Check it out and thanks again to Joel for providing these comprehensive walk-throughs.

Hi thank you Jason for sharing my video, i hope this answer will be post if the forum have a better work way.
@Joel - the forums have been working fine for the last couple of months now. We aren't aware of any existing issues other that posts of some users (particularly new users) not showing up for several days after posting. But it could be that posts by new users need to be reviewed by a moderator before being made publicly available.
Looking forward to the upcoming firmware release and tech talk. Hoping that the Performance-wide note shift has a corresponding Live Set offset like we have for volume. Don't think I saw this in the video so perhaps there's an Ideascale brewing.

Too busy since March to test answering here, new house, lot of stage, i just try this morning and see that it work fine.
Haven't heard of any Live Set note shift offset and don't see any on the screen at 9:27 in the 'Yamaha Montage M - OS 3.0 - Overview, discover all the new features (EN & Sub)' video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2ehbBEh1gE&t=1s
There is going to be a lot to test to see what was added and what might be missing.
Performance Note Shift appears to be an Offset to the Part Note shifts. At 4:48 in the video he changes the new perf parm to -12 but the part parms still show 0.
And the new 'Note Limit' tab in scene memory doesn't show any performance level note shift parm. That might be another IdeaScale thing too.
There is mention of some scene parms (note range and shift, pan) for external parts but the video doesn't show them.
And it looks like you still can't shift a part and expect it to work exactly the same but with different tonality.
There are still 'caveats' for the user to remember that changing the note limits or shifts can do some wacky things based on the element settings:
1. Init Normal (AWM2)
2. Edit elem 1 - set 'Elem Note Limit' lo to C3 and hi to B3
3. press C3 and it sounds
4. on the part pitch screen set note shift to -1
5. press C3 and there is no sound
6. press C#3 and you get the sound of C3 since C#3 now sounds a semitone (-1) lower
So even though the part note range is still C-2 to G8 and Elem 1 range is C3 to B3 pressing C3 no longer sounds.
Pressing C3 still sends MIDI C3 but it doesn't sound anymore because of the note shift to the part.
There is a similar issue with arps since they have their own related parms at both the common and the part level: octave shift, octave range but, oddly no note shift.
So if a part gets shifted or the note limits change a lot depends on how the element and arp ranges/values were defined.
Still no new Music Production Guide since the March issue that first mentions the OS 3.0 update.
@Joel - no problem - we are just trying to keep you up to date. Congrats on the new house! (Unless your wife kicked you out of the old one - OUCH).
Hi, thank you Toby, do not worry it's my choice to leave for a new one bigger and more confortable.
