Dear friends help needed..is there a website where I can order a replacement super knob plastic cap.. mine is broken, Thanks in advance.
Hello Javier - that's bad luck. I would guess your best bet is the Agency you bought it from. I suppose any knob with a suitable spindle size would work OK, but without the snazzy lighting effects. Or no knob at all - the spindle moves easily enough. But the real McCoy will need to come from Yamaha - hence going back to the dealer.
Where in the world are you located? ...how you proceed will probably depend on where you are.. But if you are asking is there an international "parts" website, no, there isn't.
USA
USA ONLY:
In order to use the Yamaha 24x7 parts order website, you will need to know the Yamaha part number(s) you would like to order. If you do not know your part number(s), please contact us for assistance by dialing (888) 892-6242, Monday through Friday, from 7:30AM - 5:00PM Pacific Time (closed 12PM - 1PM).
Thanks Bad Mister! I called support and got the part number and ordered it. Easy as can be.
FYI the part number is: ZQ400100 π
The USA parts department has been very helpful to me in ordering a variety of parts for consumer and pro instruments.
My superknob is "scraping". Not sure if yours was doing this before yours failed completely.

Replacing the Super Knob will not fix one that has βfailed completelyβ. Iβve not heard of such a malady. And no one in this thread mentioned a complete failure. The Knob spoken about here is just a Knob cap that allows light to pass through. The Knob cap doesnβt flash, and cannot fail completely. If your Super Knob truly no longer functions, you donβt need the part in discussion in this thread... you need a service center.
The LEDs aren't part of the knob part as mentioned here. I take it something failed in the plastic mating part to the rotary encoder post. And by "failed completely" I mean that breakage that forced the OP to need to replace his. So I ask - when your knob was on its way out (failing completely - such that you could no longer use it and required a new one) - was it scraping?
You're taking my "failing completely" too far.

Just pointing out itβs just a Knob cap.
As a follow-up - the "scraping" was due to superknob failure. The rotary encoder has a shaft with a flat side. The superknob plastic, when it fails, will likely fail from cracks on this flat side. I'm not sure it was sufficiently reinforced and/or there is enough mass on that side (wall too thin). My superknob's plastic has failed in this area. Other knobs may also reinforce these areas with metal inserts or bands. If I were to replace the superknob with a new part I would likely reinforce this area with epoxy or similar before replacing. I may "rebuild" the side wall on my broken superknob and see how that goes first.
If you're transporting your Montage or MODX - keep in mind that this is a weak area and prone to failure. I'm not sure how the MODX soft cases treat this area. It would need some reinforcing to ensure superknob will not have any forces applied during transport. Hopefully that's done. Depending on your own case design - you may want to modify this area.
