At some point, it would be really helpful if someone could put together an explanation of the trade-offs between a Montage and a Motif XF. Something like what you get vs what you lose.
Also helpful might be a description of the kind of user the Montage has in mind vs the kind of user for the Motif XF.
Some features of the Motif XF that are pretty useful to me were left out of the Montage. But I'm hoping to find out that Yamaha did this because they know users really won't need those features once they get used to how a Montage is intended to be used.
Well, of course. Our first task is to get the music stores excited about it. Because until they are you will not have an opportunity to purchase it. So between now and the ship date we have time to answer all of your queries (at least those that can be answered).
Hello Bad Mister, could you please advise, if there is a Pattern Sequencer on board?
Many people complain on Motifator and other web-forums, that there is no Pattern Mode, but from the Montage description on the B&H shop web site, I can see there is a "powerful pattern sequencer".
Please check here: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1218422-REG/yamaha_montage6_montage_6_keyboard.html

βOther notable features include a large color touchscreen, a βSuper Knobβ control that can control multiple parameters simultaneously, dual insert FX for all 16 parts, powerful pattern sequencer, and an arpeggiator that allows up to 8 arpeggio parts at once.β
Could you please clarify that?
Many thanks
Sonically, the Montage is away 100 light years, sounds warm and analogish as an EX5 with steroids, compressed sounds passing within an Avalon Class 1, creamy fatty sound, nothing cold like the motif here, all the sounds has that Analog warmer sound that your ears will love, I tested it for 2 hours today on Namm, anaheim, at the Yamaha floor with Mr. Blake there and believe me, you will LOVE this Montage is huuuuuuuge !!. The super snob is soooo cool, unique and powerful, you can change all using the pedal control, sequencer is a (?), seems like is similar to the Roland FA-6 , very simple but useful seq, the integration on the usb is pretty decent 16 audio outs to the computer and receive on 3, midi and audio at 44100khz on 24 bit, at 192000 khz can do only 4 stereo audio outs, but still huuuuuge....the sound of those pianos...omg !!!!!, SUPER LEADS, CREAMY PADS, ETHEREAL RHODES, BOOMING BASSES, SUPER REALISTIC ACOUSTIC STRINGS, AND THAT "ANA" TOUCH....I will buy it !! LOVE IT
Could you please respond to my query? Is there a Pattern Sequencer on board?
Many thanks π

Just a question, about scenes and arps and using it much like i used the pattern mode for playing back midi patterns..
Now i have a performance of 16 parts, where 8 parts have an arp assigned to them. And 8 parts are used for my keyboard sounds...
Can i set up a 2nd scene so that it has 8 different arps assigned to them... Or dont scenes work in that way?
That way i could use arps to advance the pattern of my music...
"Can i set up a 2nd scene so that it has 8 different arps assigned to them..."
Yes, you can. In this regard the scenes work like the ARP1-ARP5 buttons in XS/XF, but a) there's 8 of them, b) they store much more than just ARP settings.

Yes, i just read it in the operator manuall... must have missed it the first time a read it..
Now all i need to find out is if a performance can be 16 parts, or only 8? (i know there is only 8 arps and 8 motion sequences)
