Could someone please tell me where I can download an older driver such as
YSUSB_V199_Win for my Montage 8?

There's a user 'smartluo1833' on the Steinberg forum that says there's a bug/conflict in the driver 11.0.4
driver that causes Asio Link Pro to constantly loop and produce the error
"The Asio clock has overflowed, attempting reset of driver" (which is exactly what I'm getting)
and says that it doesn't occur with the YSUSB_V199 driver.
Asio Link Pro is my last hope to get Montage multi-channel USB audio out of my dam PC and into my digital mixers.
so that I can actually use it for some production. Been struggling with this for almost a month.

Thanks in advance!

Found 1.9.9 here:

https://europe.yamaha.com/en/support/updates/yamaha_steinberg_usb_driver_for_win_v199.html

... but just to correct slightly your versioning:

The latest driver is 1.10.4 (not 11.0.4) - and this version apparently has users complaining of an issue. Correcting the versioning references as it helps others follow the version information vs. what they see online or installed on their own systems.

Version 1.9.9 has been suggested as one version which does not exhibit this same issue. However, it was also suggested that perhaps the problem started with 1.10.4 so maybe newer than 1.9.9 will work. Each version after 1.9.9 mentions fixing various issues with audio.

You may also try 1.10.1:

https://usa.yamaha.com/support/updates/yamaha_steinberg_usb_driver_for_win_v1101.html
Solved a problem in which audio drop out may occur in some environments.

or 1.10.2:

https://usa.yamaha.com/support/updates/yamaha_steinberg_usb_driver_for_win_v1102.html
Now supports Yamaha MODX series.
Solved a problem in which an application which uses Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver might be stopped when starting the application after a Windows update, etc.

or 1.10.3

https://usa.yamaha.com/support/updates/yamaha_steinberg_usb_driver_for_win_v1103.html
Fixed a problem in which noise might occur in the input/output when the ASIO buffer size was set to small value.
Fixed a problem that application software would become unusable when recovering from sleep mode on a Modern Standby compatible PC.
Solved some other minor problems.

Hi Jason,
What a thoughtful, clear and complete reply! And I had googled for older drivers and never even came-acrossthe ones you pasted the links for. Thank you so very much!
I installed each driver (from the newest to the oldest), ran ASIO Link Pro and selected the Yamaha-Steinberg driver, observed the overflow error,
then uninstalled the driver, rebooted my PC and installed the prior version.
The error occurred with all drivers except the 1.9.9.

So looks like I’m gonna be stuck with that one since it keeps ASIO link Pro stable. Now I just have to figure-out what the virtual cables in ASIO Link Pro and the config on Sonar should look like before I can get Montage audio into Sonar successfully. I will play with it some more. (If you got any ideas, feel free to chime-in please.)

Thank you again!

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like ASIO link Pro is actively supported anymore (since 2017) - so there are bound to be various issues that come up as the OS and associated drivers progress.

It may be prudent to also look for a replacement for ASIO link Pro - or accomplish the task in a way that does not require this software.

... not sure if you have a patched version of ASIO link Pro or not. It looks like since the author's passing, the project has gone public domain/freeware/non-licensed maintained by family members of the original author. There's actually conflicting information here. Some reports say that the family intended to release a license-free version but couldn't figure out how to do it and just "blessed" pirate groups that circumvented the copy protection.

Due to this, I'm erasing my initial post that included links to the forums/discussion on all of this and leave it to you to sort out what you do with the information assuming you find it from your own searching (or maybe already have). From my seat, it doesn't pass the smell test so I cannot recommend getting what would still be software with no real possibility of updates.
